At Molteni glass we carry out chrome effect surface treatments on glass components and tableware. We aim to achieve the highest level of colour customisation, to create a top-quality polished surface and a tone that can enhance aesthetically distinct finishes.
At MolteniGlass we pride ourselves in being the only company in Italy that completed, long ago, the transition to waterborne single-component and two-component paints to carry out a range of chrome surface treatments and coatings. These top-quality materials are more sustainable and are available in all colours.
This type of paint is then refinished by applying a protective topcoat – transparent or pigmented – which ensures excellent hardness and brightness for products that are made to last.
To make some unique shaped bottles appear more attractive, we enhanced the surface with multicoloured chrome effect metallization solutions to which we added a series of etched high and bas-relief decorations. This was a complex surface treatment which resulted in an exclusive and truly unforgettable design.
For this project related to the world of perfumery, we created a fragrance diffuser and a 100 ml perfume bottle with a metallic degradé finish that allows for a high degree of personalization.
The challenge presented by this kind of finish consists in striking the right balance between nuance levels, the choice of colours and the desired product. It is an arduous task, yet fundamental to achieve a harmonious effect.
For these perfume bottles, the client’s idea was to associate each fragrance with a different packaging colour while also avoiding a traditional finish. That’s why we proposed a specific matt metallization solution which allowed us to create an aesthetically unique and exuberant perfume line.
For a niche fragrance brand that needed to convey its essence through its packaging design, we proposed an elegant “water lily” effect, which we then brought to life by applying a water-based silver finish. The result was a delicate and elegant decoration.
To lend character and personality to a specific bottle range, we created an ad hoc gradient metallic finish. By mixing different pairs of complementary colours (silver-blue, blue-fuchsia, and brass-silver), we achieved unique spatial effects and provided our client with a product that combines elegance and resistance.
When it comes to designing multicoloured decorations for champagne flutes and wine glasses, at Molteni Glass we pride ourselves on having fulfilled the requests of the most demanding clients. We created a range of limited editions that have contributed to making the packaging of some champagne and wine brands truly unique.
Our ability to work in small and medium batches with a flexible approach and a fast turnaround is a distinguishing feature of our business operations and allows our clients to receive a truly personalised service when ordering any kind of decoration and finish. From limited editions to important events, and from niche markets to the creation of a strong and flamboyant brand identity, our tailored solutions can accommodate an endless gamut of colours and finishes.
For this project, which involved a set of scented candles in two different shapes, our client wanted us to reproduce two different versions of the same decoration. That’s why we created two different types of metallic finishes – shiny and matt – to achieve a harmonious, coherent, and captivating effect.
